Concerts In '06 Aren't as Good as Concerts in '05

Concerts held last year were hot and popular. Concerts held last year included Leo Ku, Paula Tsui, Alan Tam, each show lasted 10-20 nights. It's hard to believe that 2006 starts off so slow, with Twins, Stef Sun, Hacken and Eason. The tickets are not selling well for any of them and there isn't one night that the tickets have been all sold out for.

As for Hacken, he will be holding 6 shows, starting from Chinese New Years Eve. Last year, him and Alan Tam held a concert during Chinese New Year too, tickets sold very well and it was full. Unfortunatly, Hacken is flying solo this year. Only on the last night are the tickets sold for 100$ all sold out, all the other nights, there are still many 100$ tickets left. As for the VIP or more expensive tickets, there isn't one night that those seats are all filled up.

According to the analysis, the reason why there is such a big drop in the selling of concert tickets is mainly because it is the same group of fans. "Hacken and Eason pretty much have the same group of fans, they're concert is being held around the same time of year, so the amount of fans going to each one will be split a bit." "In the past, Chinese New Year use to be a good season to be holding concerts, but this year it started off bad, probably because the concerts are held to often and too close to eac other. Singers are holding concerts approx. every two years now, so there is no more "fresh" feeling. Throughout the year, they are already performing at all sorts of other program on TV, so they are always seeing you sing already. On top of all that, the entertainment business haven't been so good these past years either."

It is reported that Hacken has Telecommunication company sponsoring him and Eason has a beer company sponsoring his concert. The sponsors have already bought nearly half the tickets, so even if the box office is loosing money, at least the stats of how much people are going to the concert doesn't look too bad.
