Hacken Receives Shoes for Birthday
Wednesday, December 7, 2005

Yesterday was Hacken's 38 year old birthday. When asked when he was going to get married, Hacken said "At the soonest, it will have to be after my concert, my sister had a baby two months ago, which made me have an urge to get married and have a baby myself. I hope I can do this before 40." Hacken's new CD has only been released for a few days and he has sold over 30 000, he announce that for his birthday wish, he hopes to sell 50 000 copies of his CD.
Yesterday, Hacken and his fans celebrated his birthday. One of his fans wasn't afraid of the sigh sound and gave Hacken runner shoes for his birthday*. Which made Hacken yell "You're killing me"**, there is a cartoon version of Hacken on the shoe. He laughed and said "It's a pretty sweet drawing, but I can't step on myself to go shopping!"
-----------------------------------------------------------
Explanations
*Chinese people have a superstition and don't usually give people shoes as a gift, because if you say shoe in Chinese, or Cantonese at least, it makes a sound as if you’re sighing and they think it's not good luck.
**It's a Chinese saying, “gik say” I'm not too sure how I would say it in English.
